To get to The Belmont from any port via Newport / Arreton, first follow signs to Sandown. Ignore signs to Shanklin about 2 miles from Newport and again at the mini-roundabout in Apse Heath. In Lake (9 miles from Newport) turn right at the T junction, where the road is marked S'LIN (NOT Sandown).

After a mile, go half left at the Five Ways traffic lights, signposted Ventnor. This is Queens Road. The Belmont Hotel is a quarter of a mile on the right, opposite St Saviour’s Church.

If you are coming from Ryde via Sandown, simply follow signs to Shanklin and the directions from the Five Ways lights.

Portsmouth - Ryde -
 Shanklin Station
Southampton –
West Cowes
Southsea - Ryde

Coming out of Shanklin station turn left into Atherley Road. At the traffic lights (250m) go half right up the (short) hill. This is Queens Road. We are 400 metres on the right opposite St Saviour’s church. There is also a taxi rank at the station.

On the mainland there are direct trains to Portsmouth Harbour station from London Waterloo (South West Trains), Cardiff / Bristol / Southampton (First Great Western), Brighton / Gatwick Airport (Southern Railway) and Woking (for the Railair coach from Heathrow Airport). These connect at Portsmouth Harbour with the ‘FastCat’ ferry (Wightlink) then onto the Island Line at Ryde Pier. You can buy through tickets to Shanklin including the ferry crossing, with reductions for Network Card holders.

National Express coaches to Portsmouth arrive from many cities at ‘The Hard’ Interchange, adjacent to Portsmouth Harbour train station. Tickets are available including the passenger
ferry to Ryde.

On the Island itself Southern Vectis provides an excellent bus network. If you are coming on foot or bicycle 'Bag Tag' and 'Move My Bag' both offers luggage transfer services.
